Ten Pounds of Rock in a Five Pound Bag
Bio
ABOUT THE TRACKS IN OUR MUSIC PLAYER:
All three tracks were recorded and produced by Rob Freeman (ex-Hidden in Plain View) in June of 2008, mastered by Gavin Lurssen (Elvis Costello) and now appear on our EP The Life & Times of the Hollow Sound on iTunes!
SHORT BIO:
Armed with only the instruments on our backs and the words in our hearts, The Hollow Sound has always been about looking forward since the earliest months of 2005. This band is the driving force in our lives; it is what keeps us going--whether that be through writing, performing, or recording. Over the years we've put together a handful of EPs, the most recent of which being The Life & Times of The Hollow Sound, produced by Mike Poorman (ex-Hot Rod Circuit, producer of Paulson, TREOS, Piebald) at Strangeways Recording in Providence and mastered by Nick Zampiello (Against Me!, Isis, The Lot Six) at New Alliance East in Cambridge. We have been lucky enough to share the stage with Rookie Of The Year, The Matches, Kaddisfly, Royden, Christians & Lions, Protest the Hero, The Audition, As Tall As Lions, and many more amazing bands. In 2006 and 2007 we were invited to play the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City. Currently we are at home preparing for a SXSW showcase and tour, writing, and playing as many local and out-of-state shows as possible.

Fan Made Music Video
Justin - 2/21/07 9:08 PM
Ryan Sullivan and Zack Davis made this amazing music video for our song "Downtown" which is previously unreleased. This is by far the best video anyone has ever made for us, the whole thing was done on a digital camera with only 15 seconds of recording time. Ryan and Zack we are forever greatful.

New Music and More
Justin - 2/21/07 9:07 PM
That's right folks! In two weeks from now, on March 2nd, you will be able to hear a brand new demo by The Hollow Sound on our good 'ole Myspace page. Not sure which song it will be yet, but it'll will be one of the three we have been finishing up the last few weeks with the help of our good friend Graham.
This is just a taste of what is to come. We are going to be working on a brand spanking new EP with a great producer by the name of Mike Poorman (Paulson, Piebald, Converge) this June. So keep in touch for that.
Finally, in March, we have some sweet shows coming up with the likes of The Appreciation Post, Zac Clark, Sparks The Rescue, etc etc. And on March 4th we are demoing one of our new songs, "Monster," whoa!
And! ...as always, our old EP that we recorded early last summer is still up for free on our Myspace page, or here: www.thehollowsound.com/ep.
