Bio
Post Roman as they are today began in late 2005, but the band has existed in some form or another since the summer of 2002. It was in late 2005 that Post Roman added lead singer Jack Tangney to their ranks, marking a clean slate for the band. Clicking instantly with Jack, the band (which also includes Dan Hind, Nick LaRousse, Harrison Aidala, and Dan Hillier) began working at a quicker pace and with a renewed enthusiasm. The result was a collection of songs that both spoke from the bands past and firmly paved the way to establishing a sound unique to Post Roman. Desperately in search of an outlet to make our music known, the band decided upon recording through the Killingsworth Recording Co. The album, titled This Canvas, A Vessel, displays Post Roman in our truest form, with Tangney's striking vocals soaring over expansive instrumentation that sets a landscape with intense mood and dynamic. The music calls to mind bands such as Thursday, Circa Survive, Pretty Girls Make Graves, and Cursive, but Post Roman's sound remains unique. This is largely due to the fact that no single member writes the songs, but instead songs are crafted by the entire band as a community. Especially distinct is the lyrical approach of the band, which relies mostly on stories written by Dan Hind, which with Jack's own interpretation are formed into song lyrics. This Canvas, A Vessel was recorded in late July 2006. The album is currently available for purchase, and the band are committed to playing as many shows as possible. Last but most importantly, we would like to thank everyone who has enjoyed our music and for their continued support. It does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.

New Website and BIG Update!
Daniel - 1/24/07 12:12 AM
It’s been far too long since we have updated our website (www.postroman.net), but as you can see from its new design (by the lovely Becky Rosenblatt of Brutal Honesty Designs) we’re starting 2007 off in full motion. So be ready for constant updates of the life of Post Roman, as we have much happening for us right now that we’re incredibly excited for.
Firstly, we have a show on Saturday February 3rd @ Temple Beth'am in Merrick, NY (2377 Merrick Avenue). This is the record release show for Permanent Me, and some other great bands will also be there, such as: All Grown Up, Airdate, Destiny of Design, Daydream Radio, Celestina, Welwyn, Pristine Cadre, Oh, Savanna, This Ship Will Sail, Edison Glass, The Prospero Collapse & more! We have tickets (for $10), so if you would like to attend let us know. We will be more than happy to personally deliver them to you (and maybe even give you a hug?) or meet you the day of the show. We'd love to see as many of you come down as possible, so please let us know, it'd mean a ton.
Secondly, this past Saturday Nick, Jack, and Harrison made their collective way down to RadioX with our boy J and did an in-studio interview and acoustic performance, of which will be available for streaming THIS Friday, January 26th at http://www.radiox.fm/
Thirdly, we still have a bunch of our debut cd’s, ‘This Canvas, A Vessel,’ ready to be unwrapped and listened to by you all, so please find us at a show OR if that’s impossible, simply order one online (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr) and we will ship it out as soon as possible!
Fourthly, we have a bunch of shows being planned for the immediate (and not so immediate) future. As we have more information on those, we will update you lovelies immediately! Furthermore, if any bands reading this would like to get in touch with us about playing, setting up, or hopping on a current show, please let us know, as we are more than anxious to play as much as possible and help you already-touring bands out who need a hand.
Which leads to the final point: we are currently looking for bands to tour with this summer! We already have a few plans in motion (of which we will disclose once confirmed), but would love to hear from anyone who is interested in setting up a tour as well. Seriously, we’re open to anything right now, so please do not hesitate. If nothing else, get in touch so we know who you are!
Okay, maybe it wasn’t final. If anyone is interested in helping out, we have entered into this year's Taste of Chaos tour Battle of the Bands. We’d love it if you guys took a minute and voted for us. It will only take a moment of your time, and you will also be able to hear one of our songs from our cd that you may not have heard. http://www.battleofthebands.com/profile.php?path=postromanLI
OKAY, wow that was ridiculous. I hope someone reads that! We’re incredibly excited for the following year and we’ve never felt more dedicated to the music in general. Please talk to us and come see us play if you have a chance. Not only would we really appreciate it, but we think you might like it as well.
With much love and excitement,
Post Roman
