****************************************************************** "WHAT'S UP GUYS, WE'RE ACADIA FROM SOUTHERN MASSACHUSETTS. LETS GO!" ******************************************************************
Welcome! We're ACADIA. we play music, and want you to listen. See for yourself what all the buzz is about!
FUELTHESCENE.COM had the following to say about ACADIA's release, "The Last One Standing": "At the drop of a hat Acadia can change from subdued, mellow rock to sheer chaos... Their fresh take on the genre makes them stick out... This is the best EP i have EVER heard by an undergroud band. The execution is brilliant, The vocals are great, and the musicianship is wonderful."
ACADIA WAS A TOP 5 FINALIST IN THE MTVU AND EPITAPH RECORDS BMOC COMPETITION, AS WELL AS ONE OF THE TOP 50 ARTISTS OF THE YEAR FOR '06/'07 ACCORTING TO EPIC RECORDS. ACADIA WAS ALSO BMOC'S "ARTIST SPOTLIGHT" FOR THE WEEK OF AUG 20, 2007
ACADIA, in november 0f 2007, was a top 5 nominee for the first ever MTVU "Best Music On Campus" Woodie Award. To see video of ACADIA of the awards broadcast, head over to myspace.com/AcadiaMA and check it out!
Bio
ACADIA started early 2005 in southern Massachusetts by a group of friends who all shared a common passion for music, and for writing and playing songs that showcased their varied musical tastes. This variance of musical preferences has very strongly influenced the bands unique style, featuring dueling vocals and a balance of technicality, fury, and a certain vulnerability about the songs lyrics. In less than one year, Acadia has managed to develop a large and very loyal fan base attending and selling out shows in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, recorded a debut album entitled the Long Way Down EP at Echo Room Productions with producer Ian Van Opijnen (best know for his work with Epitaph Records Vanna, as well other Massachusetts bands such as Therefore I Am, Morris!, and many more), and has had the pleasure to share the stage with such bands as:
BAYSIDE (Victory) I AM THE AVALANCHE (Drive-Thru) THE DEAR HUNTER (Triple Crown Records) Vanna (epitaph) ZOX (Side One Dummy), Kevin Devine and the Godamn Band (Columbia), Envy on The Coast (Photo Finish Records), the Scene Aesthetic (Myspace's Top Unsigned Band) and many others and was also asked to play on the 2006 Vans Warped Tour.
Acadia's ever growing fan base is due in large part to the bands energetic live show. Able to mix showmanship with musicianship without compromising either, Acadia connects to almost every crowd instantly and refuses to let go until the last chord of the final song. It was this live edge that caught the eye of Robotica Records, an independent label based out of Boston, Massachusetts. Robotica claimed that they saw something special in the music and that they instantly knew that they wanted to be a part of it.
The band has, in recent months, focused very strongly on writing new material that surpassed their own expectations and pushed the envelope as far as what can be used in todays indie and post-hardcore scenes. Experimenting with different styles of arangements and new instruments, the result of these songs is truly mindblowing. All of Acadia's hard work and dedication as a band is showcased in their new album,"The Last One Standing." availaible now through interpunk.com, cdfreedom.com, and www.myspace.com/AcadiaMA

If you put a cup of rock, a pinch of metal, a smidge of 80s showmanship, and a gallon of energy in a mixer and pressed "HIGH".
