New York CMJ Trip

October 26, 2009

So it’s monday, that means i’m back to being bored out of my mind sitting in a classroom. I got to go to NYC this weekend and perform for the CMJ music festival, it was a good time…

I flew out to Boston on Thursday, met with the promoters who are putting my November 19th Boston show with Crush Club together. They’re good folks, i got to party with them and all their peoples at Babson University… Def a lotta love out there, they were all hard core G fans which was dope.

Friday we got in to NYC and I linked up with these two kids Mikey Fresh and Digital Dao, they got a group called Circa 87 (look out 4 em!! they’re mad cool). My lawyer linked us up, so I hit the studio with them and we knocked out two bangers!! After the lab, we brought the tracks back to this house party, and played the tracks for everybody. was way chill, everybody loved em… partied till mad late, good times…

Next day I had one of my first LEGIT photoshoots, in a studio in SVA with photographer Jake Pett. The shots came out dope I’ll post them soon.

That night I performed at BLVD and it was a huge turnout which was dope!! The show was hella fun. There were a few acts on the bill that really impressed me… Rob Roy did his thing, Hollywood Holt shut it down as usual, The Beatards were dope… and the homies from Berkeley were in the building, The Cataracs. They came thru n did their thing. Overall the night was pretty dope.

Sunday we kicked it in NYC and then had to fly home that night… which brings me to where I am now… back in the real world… bored in this class!!

New music in the works…? ;)

September 9, 2009

Yo I can’t help it… I admit I told myself I was gonna try and lay off the lab for a bit, switch my focus to promo, but it looks like we have a banger on our hands… Me and Franco started f****n around on this track the other day, then my roommate Josh came thru and laid down some live trumpet, then the homegirl kayln added some vocal harmonies, and before we knew it we had a dope ass beat on our hands… So I went ahead and wrote to it then recorded my vocals and got the track finished that same night.

Word of mouth has been spreading about it already, and all our close folks we’ve plaid it for have been goin crazy… so if you’re lucky I might leak the track soon…

Kid Cudi album

September 7, 2009

Yooooo I gotta give the props that are due to kid cudi… I like the creative direction he took with the album. It’s pretty weird which is def a good thing, but at the end of the day its still dope.

I wouldn’t call him the most talented vocalist in the game, but that’s not the important part about the album. The part I like best is his vision, his concepts and his choice of production for the album. Give it a listen…click the album to download it…

10 reasons to download my album

September 3, 2009

I feel like these lists can be corny… , oh well. Read the list, go get my album, and then spread the word to everyone you know.

1. I put my heart into this project… and from top to bottom I feel like it represents me.

2. I spent 40 days this summer touring the whole country to promote it.

3. The albums got “Candy Girl” on it, along with a bunch of other dope tracks.

4. Almost the entire record was produced, written, recorded and mixed by myself. Grinnnddd.

5. There’s 19 tracks on the digital version. That’s over 60 minutes of dopeness.

6. There’s 2 skits on the album, and they’re funny as hell.

7. I got hooks from Blair Taylor, Greg Banks, Riva Precil, Erika Flowers, and Jazmine Blue on there, and verses from Cypher, Khane and Priceless.

8. The albums mad diverse, so whether ur into indy or mainstream, you’ll find something on there ur gonna feel.

9. I spent a year recording music for this album, and put out 4 mixtapes and an EP prior to it’s release to build up the buzz for the album.

10. Best of all, you can now download it for FREEEEEEEEEE (or at your own price if you’d rather not be cheap and support)

So go get the album… listen to it, bump it, slap it in the whip, bang it on the iPod, do whatever you do, and after you hear it, go spread the word about it… and tell everybody that doesn’t have it yet that they’re a square, and that they need to step their game up by copping this album!!
