Nate - 10/25/08 7:18 PM
Hey there, Nate here. We would like to thank everyone that was able to come out last night to our show at the Norva (thenorva.com) in Norfolk, VA. It was great being able to open for Uh Huh Her. The crowd was amazing and we hope to play for some of you again soon!
Video adventure
Joe - 10/23/08 11:49 AM
So I felt the need to write to you about our night.
I got a location, I got a camera, both thanks to the generous support of a few of my professors and faculty at CNU. After my drum lesson from 5:45-6:45, I dragged my drum set to the studio theater (black box) in the Ferguson Center for the Arts, which is where the music department is located.
Once I got everything down there at 7:00, Parker arrived to begin brainstorming how to make this video for MTV-U. Shortly after, the rest of the band arrived and we started to set up. We finally began filming at 9:30 after setting up our lights and maximizing the little amount of equipment we had. With the help of Andy Bell, Sean Amodeo, Rachel, and Megan, we got everything going.
We finished filming at about 11:00, after doing roughly 10 takes of the song from various different angles. Joe Fitz took a few band photos while we had the space, and we packed up and got out of there at exactly 12:00, which is when we had to be out of the building.
Then Nate, Walter, Parker and I we went back to the band house to edit starting at about 1:00. Nate and I ended up staying up and worked from about 1:00am-4:30am editing the footage making sure it was workable (we are not videographers!)
I went to bed at 5:00am, woke up at 8:30am so I could make it to my piano class at 9:30am and not be late. I was late...so much for that.
So this is what it's like being in a band trying to give it all you can. Even if it means working on a video for 10 hours straight, then running a 5 class day, or working a full time job, or teaching, or some of each all together on 3.5 hours of sleep.
...but we love it
oops
Joe - 10/23/08 11:49 AM
Nate, due to my slightly unconscious state this morning I accidentally deleted your last blog. Sorry man.

Songs in the works
Nate - 10/20/08 12:04 AM
Sometimes when you write ... things just flow. You aren't sure where they come from but it's a great feeling. You feel as though you must let it out of you. One can draw inspiration from around them.... fabrication in a dishonest way just isn't cool.
Drum tracks!
Joe - 10/18/08 6:45 PM
Today I laid down a drum track for a new song that Walter cooked up. Last night we were playing it, and one of our friends said it sounds like music you would fly through space to. Does NASA allow those iPod head phones in space suits?
The songs just keep getting better and better. Because we are demoing all of our new songs it gives us a great listening perspective to make them better all the time. We can't wait to record again soon.
Video Blog!
Nate - 10/12/08 8:40 AM
Hey everyone! This weekend was quite productive for us. We worked on some new songs. Recorded some more tracks. All in all things are looking good. We are very excited about it all and can't wait to share it with you. We wanted to thank you all for your support so we decided to film a short video blog! We tried uploading it here to the MTVU site, but it wouldn't work properly b/c of our file format so we put it on our youtube page: Youtube.com/chasingarrows ! So check that out!
Thanks again everyone!

New songs
Joe - 10/11/08 9:40 AM
Today after I teach for an hour and a half then play a jazz show, am going over to the home studio we have to demo some new songs. We have a ton of ideas floating around, so finally we have some time to put thought into them. Maaaaybe one of these days we'll let them out of the studio, but we gotta be careful because they have the potential for mass chaos, we wouldn't want to ruin the country's economy with our music.

I have remembered my log in information and also have figured out how to blog FINALLY. There's a lot of voting going on, and a lot of awesomeness between our large fan family and us.
This is all I have time to say because I gotta go to class. I have jazz Big Band at 1:00. We're playing a big band arrangement of Green Dolphin Street, it should be fun. All for now, don't skip your breakfast.
