Bio

They wanted to make music that was truly “independent,” and wrestle the genre away from overzealous producers and self-conscious scenesters. So, recording in the bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways of upstate New York, SDW worked for nearly two years in creating their self-titled debut album. They have been described as “anti-folk” (whatever that means), and they’ve been recognized for their original use of strings, horns, accordion, and other acoustic instrumentation. They were recently named “NYC Artists on the Rise” by the Deli Magazine, and they are currently playing in the NYC area and working on an EP of new material.
