"Upbeat funky rock that's guaranteed to get ya movin'".
This is the phrase that most people would use to describe St. Louis, Missouri's Essence Of Logic. The band, formed in 2001, is an energetic, powerful 5-piece group consisting of drummer Brian Schaeffer, guitarist Dave Seithel, bassist Drew Franklin, DJ-MAHF on turntables and vocalist/guitarist Jeff Nations. E.O.L. smoothly blends elements of rock, funk, reggae, jazz and hip-hop to create their upbeat, melodic, funky sound and the music is rounded out by Nations laid-back, life-is-good lyrical style which he backs with a strong, loud, in-your-face vocal presence.

Essence Of Logic put their name on the radio across the U.S. with their 2003 demo, The Larry Elliot EP, which was followed up with their 2004 full-length debut, What's The Story?. What's The Story? earned the band even more radio play, slots on several compilation discs, distribution through Blue Sky Media and CDBaby.com (which put the album in stores in Japan and made it available on 50+ digital downloading services) and continued to spread their positive sound and message.

2006 saw the band touring even harder and picking up a handful of honors. '07 is already off to a good start with the group landing one of their songs in an upcoming independent film, some label attention and a busy tour schedule. E.O.L. also plans to enter the studio in late spring/early summer to record their sophomore full-length album. Essence Of Logic has pulled out all the stops and will stop at nothing to take their music, their dream to the top.

What People Are Saying About Essence Of Logic:

"While fans await the new CD, Essence Of Logic continues to bring their energy and creativity to St. Louis venues. Their upbeat music, ambitiousness and the fun they have on and off the stage combines to characterize their essence. Positivity is the essence of Essence Of Logic."
- St. Louis Sound Magazine

"Sensing some fun, I stuck around for the remainder of Essence Of Logic's set. It proved a good decision"
-Thomas Crone of stltoday.com

"In places, Nations (who radiates rock-star presence live, by the way) sounds oddly like Gordon Lightfoot, of all people, and he and his four cohorts range across genres at will"
-Brian Hollerbach of Playback STL

"Sure there is some band somewhere is trying to do something similar in the way of sound, yet there is doubt they are doing it as well. Essence Of Logic must use a touch of alchemy the way they blend Funk, Rock, and Hip-Hop to make music that could not be duplicated anywhere by anyone."
- Austin Bates of stlouismojo.com

"You will definitely get the feeling these guys are the genuine article simply because they are. They take time to greet the fans with handshakes (something I have seen before in few other bands, still it's very rare a band will go this extra mile). After lifting a beer right along with you, they will hit you with an in your face sound that rocks"
