Bio
Hailing from bright & happy San Diego county, James Drive formed in the spring of 06'. A long awaited dream for its founders, Casey and Braden McKinley. In just a short time, James Drive pumped out several catchy yet thought- provoking songs, cut an EP and started infiltrating San Diego county with their music. And they have been succesful in aquiring a solid following and consistent gig-playing in well- respected venues in the San Diego area. This is all thanks to their infectious melodies and thoughtful musicianship.
The band consists of...
Casey- Lead Singer/Acoustic guitar- Casey grew up with music as a singer/pianist/guitarist. A talented man with a gift of melody and words. He graduated the University of San Diego with an English major and Music minor. Man, he's wise.
Braden- Piano/Keyboards/Vocals- An avid musician from an early age, he studied piano, voice, theory and composition since the age of 8. He and Casey write all the music for James Drive. Often called "The Fountain of Sound" by Casey. Braden is currently finishing his time at University of California, Irvine as a Music and Dramatic Arts major.
Matt - Lead Guitar- The brains of team "James Drive". A talented musician who brings a jazzy flavor to the James Drive sound. An extremely proficient guitarist. Matt graduated University of California, Irvine a few years ago and cleverly balances two careers both as a musician and a computer programmer.
Ray- Bass- Excellent bass player whose smooth and groovy sounds couldn't fit James Drive better. Another graduate of University of San Diego, him and Casey met in college and made music throughout their time there. Ray is also a photographer and writer, what a man!
Bryce- drums- A highly skilled drummer, James Drive is fortunate to have him in the band. He adds a very unique and creative flare to the sound. Bryce is getting ready to finish his undergraduate schooling at University of California, San Diego as a pre- Med student.
